Privacy Policy

Daily Manifesto (shown on your home screen as “Manifesto”) is a writing practice that runs entirely on your device. This policy is short because there is little to say: the app collects nothing, transmits nothing of yours, and has no server to send anything to.

Your writing

Everything you write — your sentences, your goals, your record of days — is stored on your device, in the app’s private container and its shared App Group container, which exists only so the home-screen widget and the Live Activity on the same device can draw your tree. Nothing in it leaves your device through this app. There is no sync, no upload, and no one at the other end.

What we collect

Nothing. The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party code of any kind; every framework it links is Apple’s. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”, its privacy manifest declares no data collection and no tracking, and each declaration was verified against the source code.

Sign in with Apple

You do not need an account to write. Sign in with Apple exists for one purpose: tying a subscription to your Apple ID so it can be restored on a new device. Apple performs the authentication; the app keeps only the anonymous identifier Apple returns and — if you choose to share it — your first name. Both are stored only on your device, are never transmitted by the app, and are not linked to your writing. Signing out removes them from the device.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Your payment details are handled by Apple and never reach the app or us. The app checks your entitlement on-device using Apple’s framework and keeps nothing about it beyond what iOS itself keeps. Apple’s handling of purchase data is described in Apple’s own privacy policy.

Retention and deletion

Your data lives only on your device, so you hold the only copy and control it completely:

• Export it any time from the app (You → Export everything).
• Deleting the app deletes everything it stored, including the shared App Group container.
• There is nothing on our side to request, access, or erase — we never had it.

Backups

Because your writing lives on your device, it is included in the device backups you control (iCloud or local). Those backups are made by iOS under your settings, not by this app.

Children

The app is not directed at children, and because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights over personal information a company holds about you. Business Lion LLC holds none: there is no account database, no log of your activity, and no copy of your writing. If you believe otherwise, or have any question about this policy, write to us and a person will answer.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Since the app transmits nothing, the honest prediction is that it will not change much.
